The Black Resurgents
The Black Resurgents are pioneers in Hip Hop dance
and have a rich legacy of excellence and innvation.
Oakland has a rich legacy of music,
art and culture and The Black Resurgents are a valuable element of that
legacy. A well known boogaloo dance group organized in the 1970s, The
Black Resurgents have excited audiences throughout California and abroad
with their boogaloo and stepping styles of dance. These styles, which
were popularized in the funk era of music, consist of free form body
movement that has complex rhythms, visual illusions and robotic moves
and are one of the cornerstones of what the world knows as "poppin".
These legends of Hip Hop are part of the reason the culture is alive and
strong in the Bay Area today.

Tripl3 Threat
Tripl3
Threat is a group of 13 young men who came together in June of 2006.

entertainers. Since their beginning they have performed at the Las Vegas
All Stars Weekend, Los Angeles Sessions, Paramount's Great America, and
over 100 other performance events. In 2007 their first of a series of

Beatz N Pieces
An
incredible B-boy crew from the San Francisco Bay Area repping the true
essence of B-boying. They were established in 2003 with the original

Rich Payne, Danny, Noel, Ariz Roc, Lucid, and Tomo.

Beatz N Pieces members worked with an organization called "Journey 2
Origin" going to underprivileged schools and setting up Hip Hop
workshops for 3,000 students
Beatz N Pieces crew recognizes themselves as part of a much bigger Hip
Hop picture and take very seriously their commitment to preserving the
art of the B-boy and keeping Hip Hop culture true to its origins. This
recognition and commitment is evident in their name, since you can't
dance without first having BEATZ and because everyone has their own
style and part to play they are all essential PIECES of the larger Hip
Hop puzzle.
